FAQs

  • Mucosal Eyeliner is the inside waterline of the eye. It’s a subtle eyeliner but adds a dramatic brightening effect to the eye. It’s a Hollywood trick to add white on the waterline to open and make the eyes look bigger. Bright colors on the mucosal accurate eye colors. Black pigments on the mucosal closes a bigger shaped eye but adds a sultry effect.

  • Immediately after the procedure, the eyeliner will appear dark, thick and bold. You will want to apply ice to your eyes to bring down the swelling after the procedure and the following day. Over the next three days the eyeliner will crust over and you want the crusts to not dry out by applying the aftercare ointment. You do not want to pick or aggravate the eyeliner until the crusts come off. The longest part is letting the numbing cream set and going over details about the procedure. Take Tylenol 30 minutes before your procedure. If you wear contacts, bring your glasses with you.

It's recommended to ask your physician to prescribe you a few valium to take during the eyeliner procedures.

  • Lip Correction is where we will go in and correct areas in the lips where there may be a missing or dissolved border and can even involve a scar in the area as well. When we go in to do a lip correction, there may be additional touch ups needed other than just the initial one, but either way, we strive to get you to your desired outcome.

  • Dark Lip Neutralization is a specialized treatment series for those with cool or dark lips in which we neutralize the darkness in the lips to reach a desired color. We look at your lips and neutralize them by cancelling out the original color. With dark lip neutralization, we include the initial appointment as well as 2 touch ups, if needed. Each session is spread out at least 6 weeks apart. It may take 1-3 sessions to achieve your look, and there are special cases in which additional sessions are needed. Typically, we will do dark lip neutralization in those who are Fitzpatrick Scale 3 and up.

  • Unlike other parts of the face, lips are a muscle, without hair follicles. Lips also have a very large supply of blood. The ratio of pigment retention taking on the vermilion border verses the vermilion tissue of the lip is very different. Lip liner will have a much greater retention of color. The vermilion tissue of the lips will be far less. Lip pigments tend to be translucent and need to be layered. This means a full lip may take 2-3 sessions, depending on the desired results, along with the natural lip color. In many cases a client will lose from up to 30-50% of the initial lip pigment application. They will get a much greater uptake of color on the second session, and third if warranted. I try to inform every client to follow post-care instructions, and have realistic expectations about your final lip color, that way you can enjoy the remarkable benefits of what a permanent lip procedure can offer!!!

  • The lips have a little different healing process. Immediately after the procedure the lips will appear very dark, thick and bold. You will want to apply ice to bring down the swelling after the procedure and the following day. It will take 3-7 days for the crusting to shed off. During the 3-7 days, the lips will feel very dry and tight. You will want to keep them hydrated! Once the crusts flake off your lips will look opaque or like all the color has disappeared. It can take 2 weeks to 30 days for the color to rejuvenate back to the surface. If the lips need to be darker, lighter or if a piece chips off, it’s all enhanced during the touchup. If you are prone to fever blisters, please start on an anti-viral medication (prescribed by your physician) 5 days prior and 5 days after any lip procedure.

This will help avoid an outbreak since fever blisters are a known side effect to the lip procedures. The lips take around 2 hours. The longest part is letting the numbing creams set and going over details about the procedure. Take Tylenol 30 minutes before your procedure and bring your lips colors with you to match the color.

  • If the shape is desirable but the color has faded into a blue, green. purple or red hue we use a technique that “covers” the old color. Corrective color is first tattooed over the faded permanent makeup to neutralize it. And then right after in the same session, we can give you beautiful new natural eyebrows. The improvement is immediate! Pigments will hold the integrity of the true color.

The color theory applies to all forms artwork whether it is on the walls, in a painting, in your hair or on your face. Remember color does not cover color. If you wanted to paint a red wall white you must first put a primer on the wall otherwise the red color will push through eventually and you will not get the true color you desire. A corrective tattoo color acts as a primer.

  • Shape mishaps can happen when a technician is poorly trained, lacks the artistic ability or does not yet have enough experience in the field. Shape corrections can range. Sometimes the shape is not “terrible” but would look much better with a few changes. In this case, we would be able to provide additional tattooing to improve the symmetry, shape or balance of the eyebrows, eyeliner or lips. If additional tattooing does not fix the problem pigments or inks may have to be removed first.

  • You may have eyebrows that are completely solid, too dark in color, too big or wrong placement of color. In this case, the majority of the color has to be first removed by means of sterile saline. With this technique, we first remove the old color or at least lighten it to a shade that is manageable. After the initial treatment clients must wait at least four weeks so the color has time to rise to the surface of the skin. After the four weeks, we re-evaluate the area to determine if another removal session is necessary before we can apply a new color. In a lot of cases, a removal AND color correction is needed before new pigment can be applied.

  • Brow lamination is a chemical treatment that lifts, straightens, and tames brow hairs for a fuller, more defined look.

This is done by applying two types of chemical solutions to the brow hairs: a relaxer and a neutralizer. The relaxer breaks down the bonds in the hair, while the neutralizer reforms them, setting the hairs in their new shape.

  • Brow lamination can thicken, volumize, and shape your brows, tame unruly hairs, hide sparse patches, and last for up to 6 weeks.

This is a low-maintenance and versatile treatment that can be tailored to your individual preferences.

  • Brow lamination is a great option for anyone looking to enhance their brows, but it is important to note that it is not suitable for everyone.

People with the following conditions should not get brow lamination:

    -Eczema

    -Rosacea

    -Generally sensitive skin

    -Proneness to contact dermatitis

    -Pregnant or breastfeeding women

If you have any of these conditions, please consult with a dermatologist before getting brow lamination.

Other people who may want to consider other brow enhancement options include people with very thin or sparse brows, or people with very short brows. Brow lamination may not be able to achieve the desired results for these people.

If you are unsure whether or not brow lamination is right for you, please consult with a qualified brow technician.

  • No, brow lamination does not work equally well on everyone. The type of brow hairs you have can affect the results. Coarser hair may require a longer time to process or stronger products than finer hair does.

Is brow lamination on thick brows possible?

Yes, brow lamination can be done on thick brows. In fact, the best brow lamination results are achieved with thick, voluminous brows. The more hairs you have and the thicker they are, the wider and more dramatic the arches.

Is brow lamination on sparse brows possible?

Yes, brow lamination can also be done on sparse brows. The tinting step will help to color the thin, barely visible hairs and make the arches appear fuller.

However, it is important to note that brow lamination cannot create brows out of thin air. If you have very thin or sparse brows, you may want to consider other brow enhancement options, such as microblading or microshading.

  • The brow lamination procedure takes about 60 minutes total and the results typically last for 4-6 weeks. To prolong the results, avoid getting your brows wet for the first 24 hours and avoid using oil-based products around your eyes. Brush your brows daily with a spoolie brush to help keep them in place.

  • Brow Henna Dye is a natural alternative to eyebrow tint that offers a long-lasting deep pigmentation on the skin and hairs. It is made from the Lawsonia inermis plant, which has been used for centuries to color hair and skin. Brow Henna Dye is also known for promoting brow health.

  • Regular brow tint only tints the eyebrow hairs, while Brow Henna Dye tints both the hairs and the skin. This gives Brow Henna Dye a more defined and long-lasting result.

  • Brow Henna Dye is for anyone who wants to achieve fuller, more defined brows that last for weeks. It is especially good for people with sparse brows or who want to try a new brow shape before committing to semi-permanent makeup.

  • Being the perfect hybrid of brow henna and brow tint, the stain dye achieves a balanced longevity, with the brow stain lasting up to 10 days on the skin and 6 weeks on the hairs.
